Apple has dedicated the last year to the development of an AI coding tool. This new instrument, aimed at surpassing Microsoft's Copilot, will become part of the Xcode programming software. Xcode is used for creating applications across all major Apple systems: macOS, iOS, watchOS, and tvOS.
The AI's main role is to predict and automatically complete or expand existing code snippets. This capability aims to drastically reduce the time required for app development, facilitating the addition of new functionalities or the rectification of bugs. The tool is currently in an accelerated phase of internal testing among Apple employees.
The company plans to introduce this tool at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June 2024. Future versions of Apple's operating systems will feature an extensive array of new AI-driven functionalities. Nonetheless, Apple is proceeding cautiously with the launch of new tools, prioritizing quality and performance over competition.
