President-Elect Trump emphasized that Bo Hines will work closely with David Sacks, who was recently appointed as the “crypto czar.”

Bo will work with David to foster innovation and growth in the digital assets space, while ensuring industry leaders have the resources they need to succeed,

Trump wrote.

Together, they will create an environment where this industry can flourish, and remain a cornerstone of our Nation's technological advancement.

The Cryptocurrency Council will act as an advisory body comprising leading figures from the cryptocurrency industry. Its primary goal is to strengthen the United States’ position as a global leader in digital assets and blockchain technology.

Hines, a former Republican candidate for North Carolina’s U.S. House seat in 2022, received significant support from cryptocurrency-focused political committees during his campaign.

Although he lost the election, his enthusiasm for cryptocurrency secured him a role in Trump’s administration.

This appointment aligns with Trump’s pro-cryptocurrency agenda. During his campaign, Trump pledged to establish the U.S. as the “world's capital of cryptocurrency,” a promise that has already sparked renewed market activity.

Earlier this month, Trump appointed Paul Atkins, a former SEC commissioner and cryptocurrency advocate, as Chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

These appointments indicate a shift toward a more crypto-friendly regulatory environment in the U.S.
