Take Down the Memecoins! Lawyers Put Pressure on Pump.fun
Legal firms Burwick Law and Wolf Popper, which previously filed a class-action lawsuit against Pump.fun on behalf of a user, are now demanding the immediate removal of memecoins that imitate their brands.
According to their official statement, several memecoins, including Dogshit2 and others, infringe on intellectual property rights by using the firms’ names and logos. Additionally, the lawyers claim that these tokens are being used to harass clients and exert pressure on the ongoing lawsuit, which accuses Pump.fun of promoting a Ponzi scheme.
Despite speculation from the crypto community that the law firms themselves may have created Dogshit2, Burwick Law and Wolf Popper firmly deny any involvement. They reiterated that they have no connection to the launch of any memecoins and warned that Pump.fun’s refusal to take action could result in further legal action.
According to the firms, Pump.fun has the technical ability to remove these tokens but is deliberately choosing not to, allegedly enabling third parties to exploit the situation.
Investors should be extremely cautious, as promoters are actively pushing the Dogshit2 token in a high-risk pump-and-dump scheme,
the firms wrote.
The law firms have brought in government regulators to investigate the case, aiming to identify those responsible and hold them accountable. Currently, hundreds of tokens have been created that mock or falsely claim affiliation with these firms and their clients. At the same time, trading volumes for some of these tokens are surging, raising legal concerns and increasing risks for investors.
