Ye (Kanye West) and Crypto Chaos—What’s Behind Swasticoin?
The crypto world is buzzing after Ye’s latest social media posts. On Saturday, the rapper-turned-entrepreneur made waves by claiming he’s launching Swasticoin, a meme token that has already sparked heated debate. What’s really going on?
Ye’s stance on crypto seems anything but consistent. Not long ago, he was dismissing meme coins altogether, saying he had rejected multiple offers to launch one.
Yet, according to Coindesk, rumors of Kanye West creating his own meme coin have been circulating for a while. Citing anonymous sources, reports suggest Ye was planning to control 70% of the token’s supply. Allegedly, the project’s true purpose was to sidestep Shopify’s restrictions, which have been limiting the functionality of his Yeezy brand.

Ye’s latest social media posts have been as puzzling as they are provocative. The Block reports that he initially planned to make the Swasticoin contract address available only to Jews, friends, and family.
Meanwhile, he’s been actively engaging with the crypto community, seeking feedback on blockchain networks like Ethereum, Solana, BNB Chain, and Hyperliquid. He also reached out to Binance’s Changpeng Zhao (CZ), who responded to Ye’s repost with a tongue-in-cheek comment: “That one retweet got him to 33.2M followers? Wow.”
Kanye West’s social media footprint is as unpredictable as ever. Initially, he followed only Binance’s CZ, but soon, other crypto figures appeared in his follow list—before disappearing entirely. As of now, Ye follows no one.

Is a Ye-backed token actually on the horizon, or is this just another spectacle? His real intentions remain unclear, and many of his posts, including claims about launching his own blockchain, have already been wiped.
This isn’t the first time Ye has dabbled in controversy. His latest merchandise line recently featured Nazi-inspired imagery, drawing widespread criticism.
