-OOOR

A new trend has recently emerged in the world of internet memes: adding the suffix -ooooor to names or concepts. This type of trolling is used to humorously mock certain ideas or individuals.

By attaching –ooooor to a word, people highlight exaggerated stereotypes or traits associated with a person or concept. For instance, the Investoooor sarcastically refers to a trader who constantly boasts about their profits, endlessly talks about their “unique” trading strategies, and brags about their flawless risk diversification.

This meme format is easy to create, as it can be applied to almost any topic or personality. It effectively captures the community sentiments, often in response to current events.

-oooor memes can be found everywhere—from social media and forums to messaging platforms. New ones pop up almost daily, as there are always crypto comedians ready to poke fun at established stereotypes.

Can devs do something?

When you see this phrase in a post, don’t jump to conclusions that there’s a critical bug in the protocol or a major server crash.

The phrase “Can devs do something?” has become an ironic expression of the crypto community’s frustration during market downturns.

As prices fall, investors often look for someone to blame, and newcomers in panic may even turn to developers of the respective cryptocurrencies, demanding they “do something” to fix the situation. This phrase gained popularity thanks to influencer Hard Rock Nick.

In 2022, he first mocked the panic among inexperienced investors, highlighting the developers' inability to control market movements.

Jeet

“Jeet” is a slang term with two distinct meanings.

The first originates from the phrase “Did you eat?” In the crypto world, however, “jeet” is used to ask about profits or trading success. It’s a casual way to check if someone made any gains on their trades. For example, you might say, “Jeet anything today?” (Did you make any profit today?).

The second meaning stands for Just Exit Early Trader, referring to investors who sell as soon as they see a small profit. This behavior is driven by fear of an impending market crash or a desire to make quick money. Unfortunately, it often leads to regret when prices continue to rise after the sale.

Furthermore, when many people engage in panic selling, it can drive down the price of an asset. As a result, jeets are disliked in the crypto community and frequently ridiculed. They are seen as cowards who damage the market for everyone else.

GN

In the crypto community, “GN” is a common abbreviation used for both greetings and farewells. While it technically means “Good night,” it carries a special meaning for seasoned crypto enthusiasts.

Originally, it was just a casual way to say goodbye, but over time, it has taken on a deeper significance: “We be of one blood.”

Using “GN” helps create a sense of closeness among crypto fans. It’s a simple way to show that you’re a part of the community, sharing in its values, as well as its highs and lows. It’s a way to express that you’re there to support others and expect the same in return.

Using “GN” is considered good etiquette in the crypto world. It’s a small, respectful gesture that makes you feel more connected to the group before you sign off.

This little act helps others see you as part of the crypto family.
