Chainlink LINK Stakers Can Now Earn Tokens From Other Projects

Chainlink has launched a rewards program allowing LINK stakers to earn tokens from other ecosystem projects, increasing engagement and supporting builders.
Chainlink, a decentralized oracle platform, has introduced a rewards program that lets users earn staking rewards in native tokens from projects within the Chainlink BUILD ecosystem. According to Chainlink, the program aims to encourage active participation in the network and help BUILD projects expand their communities.
Chainlink Rewards will work this way: projects provide a percentage of their total token supply to the Chainlink ecosystem and gain enhanced access to Chainlink services and technical support.
Space and Time, a decentralized data platform that uses zero-knowledge proofs, is the first project to take part in the Chainlink Rewards program. They’re contributing 4% of their total token supply – that’s 200 million SXT tokens – to the rewards pool.
The first batch of SXT will become available for staking on May 8, 2025, as part of the pilot phase called Season Genesis.
100 million SXT tokens will be distributed between:
- Active LINK stakers, based on how much and how long they staked
- Past and current eligible LINK stakers, with tokens split into fixed amounts for each group
The remaining tokens, along with any unclaimed from the initial distribution, are slated for future availability within the program.
LINK stakers will have 90 days to claim their SXT tokens.
To qualify as an active staker, users needed to be staking by March 31, 2025 – the date Chainlink took a network snapshot. The goal is to reward both long-term, large-scale stakers and smaller holders who’ve remained actively involved.
Season Genesis acts as a trial run for this kind of rewards system. Chainlink plans to improve the program based on user feedback, with the goal of involving more projects and introducing smoother, smarter ways to distribute rewards.
Projects in the Chainlink Build program span various categories, including:
- decentralized exchanges,
- AI,
- gaming,
- interoperability,
- NFTs,
- and more.
Moving forward, Chainlink intends to strengthen its collaboration with Build partners and continue expanding the network.
