Hut 8 Corp. has revealed its latest project—American Bitcoin—a mining division aimed at scaling institutional BTC extraction and establishing a long-term crypto reserve.
Under the deal, Hut 8 contributed the majority of its ASIC mining equipment to the new venture, which it still controls with an 80% ownership stake. The remaining equity went to investors from the Trump family.
The collaboration seeks to maximize Hut 8’s mining infrastructure, boosting performance and operational stability.
The new unit is projected to achieve a hashrate above 50 EH/s, with energy efficiency below 15 joules per terahash. With operations spanning U.S. and Canadian data centers, the setup promises both cost-efficiency and scalability.
