Ripple Partners with OpenPayd for Stablecoin Expansion

Global businesses get stablecoin access and real-time payments through a new integration between OpenPayd and Ripple.

Ripple and OpenPayd announced a partnership to integrate OpenPayd's fiat infrastructure with Ripple's blockchain payment services. The agreement enables direct minting and burning of Ripple USD (RLUSD) for enterprise clients globally.

OpenPayd will support Ripple Payments in euros and pounds through its real-time payment rails, multi-currency accounts and virtual IBANs. Businesses can access RLUSD minting, burning, embedded accounts, payments and trading through a single API.

The partnership combines OpenPayd's traditional finance expertise with Ripple's digital asset infrastructure to serve banks, fintechs and crypto companies. OpenPayd's stablecoin infrastructure enables businesses to convert between fiat currencies and the USD-pegged stablecoin.

The integrated platform supports cross-border payments, global treasury management and immediate access to U.S. dollar liquidity. Enterprises can move funds across blockchains and traditional banking rails through one unified interface.

Ripple has long been a pioneer in blockchain based payments. By combining Ripple Payments with OpenPayd’s rail agnostic and fully interoperable fiat infrastructure, we are delivering a unified platform that bridges traditional finance and blockchain,

said Iana Dimitrova, Chief Executive at OpenPayd.

Jack McDonald, Senior Vice President of Stablecoins at Ripple, explained that the collaboration with OpenPayd provides enterprises with reliable access to RLUSD, combining the stability and compliance they expect with the connectivity they need. He emphasized that this approach is key to accelerating the real-world adoption of stablecoins at scale.

The collaboration targets businesses requiring efficient cross-border payment solutions and stablecoin access. Companies can now manage both traditional fiat operations and digital asset transactions through the combined platform without switching between multiple service providers.

Ripple Payments operates in over 90 payout markets, representing more than 90% coverage of the daily FX markets. The service is processing more than $70 billion in volume. RLUSD is designed as an enterprise-grade, USD-denominated stablecoin focused on compliance, transparency and utility.
