The English FC Oxford City accepts bitcoin payments
Oxford City is the football club of the sixth level from Marston. It is the first club in the National League to accept BTC payments.

As the new season begins, fans of the FC will not only be able to buy tickets to the game with BTC, but also drinks, food, and more. The game will take place at RAW Charging Stadium. It will be possible to make purchases through the Lightning network. But, that doesn’t mean classic payment methods won’t be available.
Interest in digital currency among fans is growing with each passing day. Therefore, the club's management hopes such payments will become the norm for most teams and stadiums.
Recently, the club signed a long-term contract with the bitcoin company CoinCorner. As part of this partnership, the team will perform with the BTC logo, and the company has released a limited edition of Oxford City FC Bolt cards.
The trend of introducing crypto to the British sporting world is on the rise. On the same day, Real Bedford FC is ready to accept payment in BTC, even though the club plays in a much lower-ranked league.
This trend pleases both players and fans. Club owners and crypto sponsors are confident that it will soon become commonplace.
The game will be held as early as this Saturday, August 6, 2022.
