Airdrop Hunting: Jussy’s Guide to Free Tokens
DeFi and crypto airdrop researcher Jussy (@jssy_world) shared his experience with crypto airdrops.
Jussy wrote on X that he received $3,700 worth of BERA tokens without any effort.
Berachain, with its native token BERA, went live on the mainnet on February 6, 2025. It was one of the most anticipated crypto airdrops, during which 70 million tokens (15.75% of the total supply) were distributed among community members and early supporters.
By the way, we wrote about the Berachain testnet in our article. Follow our updates to stay on top of the current airdrops.
However, Jussy’s claim that he received tokens “for nothing” shouldn’t be taken literally.
The researcher participated in BERA’s social airdrop, which rewarded users who engaged in discussions about Berachain on X or in the Berachain and Bong Bears NFT Discord communities.
When social airdrop claims became available on February 11, Jussy shared a screenshot of his wallet containing 615.3 BERA tokens with his followers.
Now, the researcher is waiting for potential rewards from other projects.
Expected Crypto Airdrops by Jussy
Jussy’s airdrop strategies are largely focused on social engagement, though many crypto projects also offer rewards for testnet users, node operators, and developers.
In his latest post, Jussy highlighted five projects that may distribute tokens:
- Kaito AI: This is an AI-powered Web3 information platform providing search tools and indexing. Its Yaps program allows users to earn points through social media engagement and content creation. Jussy mentioned that although Yaps hasn’t announced a native token, participants are earning rewards in BERA and ANIME tokens.Â
To earn tokens, users need to visit the platform, connect their X account, input their crypto wallet, and then actively post about Kaito on X while engaging with the community through likes and comments. Users can also use referral links from others or invite others to the program to earn rewards.
- Abstract: Launched on the mainnet on January 27, Abstract Chain is an Ethereum Layer 2 solution. The blockchain offers a streaming program for streamers called Abstract Live, where users can earn Abstract XP tokens based on their activity. Jussy mentions that there’s no need for a big account. Streamers need to apply on the platform, share their screens, play games, or create content on X about Abstract.
- Walrus: Next on Jussy’s list is the Walrus Protocol testnet. Walrus is a decentralized storage and data availability platform built on the Sui blockchain. The project has confirmed an airdrop of WAL tokens, which users can earn by staking SUI tokens and using apps. Other tasks include making memes or participating in Walrus Academy to earn credits or a Discord role.
- Gradient Network: Solana-based Gradient focuses on decentralized computing and computational power. Jussy mentioned that Gradient is offering a passive airdrop for its token. Users need to download the extension, register, and earn points.
- Chomp: The 5th project mentioned by Jussy is Chomp, a quiz game on Solana. Players can earn BONK token rewards and may become eligible for potential airdrops. Chomp is free to play and features a points-based system. According to Jussy, this could indicate a future native token launch.
What to Know Before Heading Toward Airdrops
Airdrops can be a great way to score free tokens, but they come with risks. Scams are everywhere – fake websites, phishing links, and wallet-draining tricks can leave you empty-handed. Always verify before connecting your wallet or sharing any information.
Even legitimate airdrops aren’t always fair or guaranteed. Projects can delay, cancel, or change the rules at the last minute. Some favor early adopters or large token holders, leaving others with minimal rewards.
To take part in airdrops safely, always conduct thorough research, double-check official sources, and never share private keys or sensitive wallet information. If an airdrop seems too good to be true, it often is. Stay cautious and prioritize security over free tokens.
