Famous “Bitcoin Maximalist” Names His Most Despised Altcoin

“No” to other coins but Bitcoin, says Hodlnaut

In an interview with The Coinomist, the famous crypto figure Hodlnaut said that he is a Bitcoin maximalist and thus sees no value in altcoins.

When asked, which altcoin he despises the most he said, “obviously it's Bitcoin BSV”, referring to his long-standing dispute with the self-proclaimed Satoshi Nakamoto Craig Wright.

Wright and his lawyers are preparing for a new hearing against Hodlnaut set to take place in September, for which the “Bitcoin maximalist” is ready too.

However, he also thinks that Ripple (XRP) is what you call a typical shitcoin.

“It's like a company and you [the interviewer] said it yourself that they’ve done a good job marketing themselves, which I think, you know, Bitcoin doesn't have a CEO. Bitcoin doesn't have a marketing department. They're just a decentralized protocol,” he told The Coinomist, explaining why Bitcoin is superior.

Meanwhile, Ripple, according to Hodlnaut, is a company which made a profit for its owners and is “absolutely as centralized as it can be.”

“If you use the fiat narratives and the fiat world, then Ripple could be a thing in the fiat world. That is, if we don't want to move away from the system we are in right now because as long as they are condoned by the authorities, maybe, Ripple could, you know, serve some kind of function,” he discusses.

That database, per Hodlnaut, could be akin to a form of a database for transferring value.

“But I would rather use an SQL or an Oracle database, a fully permission database. We have had that technology since the 1980s, so for me Ripple is basically just piggybacking on Bitcoin and that's that that's the take I have on any altcoin unfortunately,” he said.
