Google Chrome crypto plugins overview

Google Chrome Web Store has many useful applications called plugins. In this article, you will find the list of the most popular crypto plugins.

On this page

The advantage of a plugin is that, instead of installing a large software package (which must be purchased and downloaded elsewhere), the user can install a lightweight plugin from the Chrome Web Store. This plugin can only function inside the web browser, and because of that, it has many advantages. It is small, you can install it in two clicks, and it offers the full functionality of the standard installation package. If Chrome is your favorite browser, it might make sense for you to maximize its functionality using plugins.

Considering the wide popularity of Chrome (more than 65% of users worldwide use it), crypto startups and blockchain projects immediately began to fill the Chrome Store with their plugins. Plugin format became most attractive to wallet developers. We combed through the leading players to find the most popular ones.

MetaMask Ethereum Wallet

The most popular Ethereum wallet made it to the Chrome Web Store quite a while ago. It is the #1 most downloaded crypto app. More than 10 million Chrome users installed MetaMask.

Compared with other plugins, MetaMask offers significant functionality. You can create new wallets, store and send crypto, and connect not only to the Ethereum network but also to other blockchains or dApps.

On the homepage of the MetaMask website, developers offer users to install the Chrome plugin first and download an installation package in the later stages.

Ronin wallet

Ronin is the Ethereum sidechain wallet by Sky Mavis. It allows you to play Axie Infinity and use other dApps on the Ronin blockchain, which is built specifically for blockchain gaming. This wallet allows you to store all types of ERC tokens, as well as make fast and cheap transactions on the sidechain without paying high gas fees, which are typical for the Ethereum blockchain.

With over 1 million installs, it seems that it is doing a great job at what it is supposed to do.

Sui wallet

This wallet allows you to store tokens issued on the Sui blockchain. It has over 600 thousand installs, so it is in pretty high demand.

Sui wallet also allows you to create new public keys (addresses), purchase, exchange, and transfer crypto, create and store NFTs and other crypto assets in the Sui network. It also provides access to Web3 dApps.

Martian Wallet

It is the most reliable wallet for the Move ecosystem. Martian is a non-custodial wallet, which supports Aptos and Sui blockchains.

It allows users not only directly connect to different dApps but even create them on Aptos and Sui blockchains.

Martian users can:

– create and import wallets;

– store and transfer coins;

– view and collect NFTs;

– create basic dApps on Aptos and Sui.

The non-custodial format implies that the user has control over the private keys and the seed phrase. More than 500 thousand installations indicate that this wallet is exactly what holders and traders were expecting.

Martian allows users to store stablecoins on two blockchains and swap them via x-chain bridges.

Crypto.com wallet

It is a non-custodial wallet for storing crypto and earning passive income. It was launched by the prominent Singapore exchange, which has been chosen by more than 700 million traders all over the world.

Crypto.com plugin enables users to access dApps easily and securely, as well as transaction confirmations in various modes. Now, traders can confirm transactions directly through a web browser, without launching the DeFi Wallet application. Switching between Bridge and Standalone Wallet modes is also an interesting feature of this plugin.

Making transactions from the web browser is easy, fast, and convenient.

In addition to wallets and crypto exchange applications, there are also more exotic plugins in the Web Store that promote crypto mass adoption.

StormX – crypto cashback for shopping

The StormX plugin lets users earn cashback in crypto for shopping in their favorite stores. To get rewards in crypto you have to download the StormX plugin, choose an online store, and buy stuff. Users get rewards in six cryptocurrencies which can be easily transferred to the wallet:

  • Bitcoin (BTC);
  • Ethereum (ETH);
  • StormX (STMX);
  • Yearn.finance (YFI);
  • Litecoin (LTC);
  • Dai (DAI).

The list of shops consists of several hundred brands. Some of them are quite famous:

  • eBay;
  • Gamestop;
  • Groupon;
  • GrubHub;
  • DoorDash;
  • Sam’s Club;
  • even Microsoft.

There are many other useful plugins in the Chrome Web Store. These are applications that store your virtual assets and notify you about the increase or decrease in their value, just like CoinStats. These are also rate informers like Exnode. There are many other apps and most of them are free. The main thing is to remember that Chrome Web Store already has many crypto plugins, and they can ease the life of the trader or holder, who wants to stay “inside the web browser”.
