WEMIX and Blockchain Gaming: How It All Works
WEMIX is a gaming ecosystem operating on its own blockchain and has its own coin, WEMIX. Launched by South Korean video game developer Wemade, it aims to be a place where users can interact with NFTs, DAO, and DeFi.

WEMIX was founded in 2018. In October 2022, WEMIX3.0 Mainnet was launched focusing on easy-to-understand and comprehensive services. On the platform, developers can create different projects and solutions for the gaming community.
What Are the Components of the WEMIX Ecosystem
The WEMIX ecosystem is basically a blockchain-powered playground consisting of the following key parts:
WEMIX Play
WEMIX PLAY is where you’ll find all the P2E games and tokens on the WEMIX platform. Here users can access game listings, token prices, swaps, auctions, and staking. They can choose to withdraw their earnings or reinvest back into games.
The platform runs on WEMIX Game Chain (WGC) – a private blockchain linked to WEMIX3.0, which provides high speed and low costs.
WEMIX PLAY comes with WEMIX PLAYER, an official game launcher that lets players use cryptocurrency across all games.
NILE (NFT Is Life Evolution)
This is the DAO and NFT hub of WEMIX. It’s a platform where users can vote, fund, and launch NFT-based initiatives, making the ecosystem more community-driven. Whether it’s an art project, a game, or a DeFi experiment, NILE gives users a say in what happens next. Through NILE’s core smart contract mechanism, called Neith Protocol, users can create separate independent DAOs, fund projects and operate businesses.
WEMIX.FI
Through WEMIX’s decentralized finance (DeFi) platform, WEMIX.FI users can take part in swaps, staking, lending, and borrowing.
The WEMIX Token
The WEMIX token is the backbone of the WEMIX ecosystem and is used for transactions, governance, and everything in between. In June 2024, the platform went through a major change with the Brioche Hard Fork, which revamped how the token works.
One of the biggest changes was a massive token burn—about 434 million WEMIX tokens were permanently removed. This helps make the token scarcer, which can drive up its value over time.

After the hard fork, the total supply of WEMIX was capped at 590 million, marking a 60% reduction from the previous maximum supply of 980 million. By decreasing foundation reserves, WEMIX aimed to switch from a foundation-driven to a community-driven ecosystem.
Another major update was the introduction of a halving mechanism. This means that the number of new WEMIX tokens issued will gradually decrease, making it more like Bitcoin’s model. According to the project, by slowing down the rate of new tokens entering circulation, the system becomes more sustainable and can help maintain value in the long run.
According to CoinMarketCap, around 416.66 million WEMIX coins are in circulation at the time of writing. WEMIX has a daily trading volume of over $2.7 million and a market cap of over $275 million.
The token trades at around $0.06, 97% down from its all-time high of $24.68, reached on November 21, 2021.
Popular Games on WEMIX
Games of different genres and categories operate on the WEMIX blockchain, including casual collectible games, fighting MMORPGs, and strategy games.
Based on the latest updates from DappRadar, the number of unique wallet addresses interacting with the WEMIX chain per day is more than 7,400.
Some popular games operating on the platform include:
- Night Crows: This is a medieval fantasy MMORPG with a mix of ground and aerial combat, thanks to its glider system. Built with Unreal Engine 5, it has a detailed open world and large-scale PvP battles. The game also integrates blockchain elements, allowing players to trade and own in-game assets, making it a mix of traditional RPG mechanics and a Play-to-Earn economy.
- MIR4: MMORPG that combines open-world exploration, action-based combat, and blockchain-powered rewards. One of its key features is Darksteel mining, which can be converted into WEMIX tokens, letting players earn while they play. The game also has a free-for-all loot system, where players can fight over valuable drops, adding an extra strategic element to battles.
- Every Farm: A casual farming simulation game where players grow crops, manage their farms, and trade resources. The blockchain aspect allows for NFT-based ownership of farm assets, and in-game earnings can be exchanged for WEMIX tokens. It’s a slower-paced, more relaxed experience compared to other games on the platform.
- Crypto Ball Z: This one’s an idle RPG with a hero collection and automatic battles. Players recruit heroes, send them into combat, and earn HERCO tokens, which can be exchanged for WEMIX. Since it’s an idle game, you don’t have to micromanage every battle, making it a more passive way to earn rewards while still progressing through missions and challenges.
- Gunship Battle: Crypto Conflict: A war strategy game with a focus on military base-building and large-scale battles across land, sea, and air. Players manage resources, upgrade their fleets, and engage in PvP combat. The game’s blockchain integration revolves around Titanium, a resource that can be exchanged for WEMIX tokens, giving players an economic incentive to expand their military power.
WEMIX Competitors and Top Gaming Chains
WEMIX competes with several blockchain networks that focus primarily on gaming, offering scalable solutions for Web3 game developers. Among its strongest competitors is Immutable X, an Ethereum-based Layer-2 that provides zero-gas transactions and powers major blockchain games like Gods Unchained and Guild of Guardians.
Ronin, originally built for Axie Infinity, has expanded into a broader gaming ecosystem with low fees and high-speed transactions tailored for GameFi projects.
Another key competitor is GalaChain, developed by Gala Games to reduce transaction costs and improve scalability for its growing library of blockchain-based games. Oasys, a rising gaming-focused blockchain backed by major industry players like Sega and Ubisoft, is designed to support high-performance Web3 games with minimal latency and low costs.
WEMIX, with its expanding ecosystem, remains a strong contender in the GameFi sector, but the competition is getting hotter.
