Top weirdest cryptocurrencies

Top weirdest cryptocurrencies

Many people think it’s challenging to find something in the list of tickers that is more interesting than doggy altcoins. But they are wrong. You can be very surprised by the imagination of token creators.

On this page

When the market is in chaos, it's time to explore some of the weird things digital money technology is sometimes used for. After all, the blockchain and its tokens can be used for more than just making money on the exchange, since we are only beginning to discover their possible functions.

Volunteer PotCoin (Ᵽotcoin)

The marijuana-based token has been used since 2014 in the legal cannabis industry. The primary purpose is to assist individuals in need with the purchase of medical cannabis.

The project's founders are ideological pacifists and volunteers. They placed their crypto ATMs in Colorado hospices and dispensaries so that cancer sufferers could pay for medications at a discount provided by the guys from Ᵽotcoin.

Furthermore, the community sponsored a trip of NBA star Dennis Rodman to North Korea to prepare for peace talks between the US and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

The project's chief developer devoted the last years of his life to the Ᵽotcoin community. He died in 2019 from a severe kind of cancer.

PotCoin (POT) runs on the Polygon network and uses cross-chain compatibility with Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain. Tokens can be stored on MetaMask, TrustWallet, Ledger and Trezor wallets. It’s available for sale on UniSwap, DYDXZ, 1inch and PancakeSwap DEX platforms. The total supply is 420,000,000 tokens.

According to Coingecko, POT price at the time of writing is $0.00149106. 24-hour trading volume is $128.

Sexcoin, Stablecoin for Adults

The open source project was launched by enthusiasts who have experienced various forms of prejudice, including gender discrimination. The developers believe that their community is open to any initiatives related to defending the rights of women and sexual minorities. They identify themselves as “porno-addicts”.

The project's main purpose is to make anonymous payments with a low commission in the stores for adults and to pay for porn content on specialized websites. You can keep this sensitive matter private by using USDT-pegged SXC.

The total supply of tokens available for mining is 250,000,000. Sexcoin can only be stored in software wallets that support the ERC-20 standard.

The last release was in March 2019. It seems that the founders neglected their project.

According to Coingecko, the price of SXC at the time of writing is $0.00066218. The daily trading volume is $302.5.

TrumpCoin vs. PutinCoin: which one will triumph?

We discovered two more unusual tickers on the Crypto.com list: TRUMP and PUT.

It turned out that these are president tokens. In terms of popularity, TrumpCoin has significantly surpassed PutinCoin:

1. The current TRUMP price is $0.0265, but the PUT price is only $0.000501.

2. The “American's” daily trading volume is $0.0295, whereas nobody has shown any interest in its rival  over the past seven days. Such volumes speak louder than words – that token is garbage.

3. The total supply of TrumpCoin is $18 million, the number of “putins” circulating in the network could not be found.

4. Unlike Trump's token, which can be bought on VinDAX exchange, Putin's fan tokens are distributed to anyone willing to install a mobile wallet on their Android devices in order to store a “valuable” token.

PutinCoin's creators promise a 25% annual return on staking and trading on DEX platforms by the end of 2022, as well as an iOS app wallet in 2023. However, it seems that this does not pique the curiosity of traders. Or have Putin's supporters already settled in *Cheburnet (Ed. note: “Cheburnet” – the name of the network, that is referred to as “local Russian Internet” in the event of isolation from the rest of the world.)

The creators claim that PUT is decentralized and secure, but no one believes them

The creators claim that PUT is decentralized and secure, but no one believes them

Of course, these are only a few examples of weird tokens. We discovered tokens devoted solely to dentists or to Cthulhu, and even Panda Coins, released in honor of Chinese pandas. If the bear market does not continue, more of these fun tokens will emerge.
