Congressman Tom Emmer proposed a bill to prevent the Federal Reserve from issuing centralized e-dollars.

So far, the Fed has declared that it will not start issuing CBDCs without explicit support from the executive branch and Congress. Emmer wants to officially take the CBDC off the table with his bill.
It was Emmer who was the first member of Congress to oppose the CBDC last year.
