Investor complaints were first filed in December of last year. The SEC accused the stars of not disclosing the compensation they received for promoting the coin, which misled potential buyers.
After lengthy disputes, some stars agreed to pay a fine and return the money received to the government. However, this was not enough for the SEC. And so they initiated an investigation into their involvement in the criminal scheme of pumping the asset.
“It's all about the money,” commented a smiling Floyd on the scandal.
