The FTX founder, Sam Bankman-Fried, has publicly declared his innocence. He responded to charges of fraud, money laundering, and recent allegations concerning breaches of election campaign finance laws.
He articulated his defense on August 22nd in the Southern District Court of New York.
During the same hearing, SBF’s legal team also appealed for improved treatment for him.
Bankman-Fried’s lawyers asserted that the prison’s limited availability of vegan food options had compelled him to sustain himself on a diet consisting solely of bread, peanut butter, and water.
The former FTX CEO declined to consume the “meat-based diet” provided at the prison.
