Tim Copeland, the Editor-in-Chief of The Block, shared the story of the individual behind the original fake news regarding the launch of a Bitcoin ETF.
According to this user, he humorously posted the information in a Telegram channel where he is known for his playful nature. He claimed that Cointelegraph simply duplicated this information.
Additionally, he asserted that he did not benefit from the Bitcoin price surge and was initially in a state of shock during the initial hours of the event, leading him to temporarily delete his account.
Tim Copeland, on his part, pointed out that it is currently impossible to verify the identity of the account but highly likely that it is the same person involved.
