Deutsche Börse, one of Europe’s major stock exchange groups, intends to launch a regulated cryptocurrency exchange in 2024.
Alongside
this initiative, the group also plans to incorporate stablecoins into
its operations, a common trend within the institutional sector.
This
multilateral trading facility is a crucial component of Deutsche
Börse’s strategy to encompass the entire digital asset value chain, as
stated by Thomas Book, the head of trading and clearing.
While it’s believed that the exchange will primarily cater to institutions, official confirmation is pending.
Notably,
the group already holds the majority stake in Crypto Finance, a trading
and brokerage firm acquired in 2021 for CHF 100 million.
