Unfortunately, these are not things you can just wave a magic wand and get rid of,
said Pandu Nayak, Google's Vice President of Search, addressing the issue of low-quality content.
According to Nayak, this new strategy is expected to reduce the volume of irrelevant content and spam by roughly 40%. Not only will sites with poor-quality texts be affected, but also well-known domains utilized for spreading unhelpful information. However, some measures will not be implemented immediately.
Projects that have been exploiting “good” domains for spam have been allotted a 60-day window to clean up their act and eliminate such content. Meanwhile, other strategic adjustments are being activated immediately, though the details of their technical execution are yet to be fully disclosed.
