CoinMarketCap’s Q3 report, which analyzed user behavior, revealed that meme tokens have become the most popular crypto category. Over the last three months, their popularity has maintained an average of 20.68%.
The Solana ecosystem secured second place at 13.95%, while Ethereum’s ecosystem took third with 11.95%. Ethereum has seen partial growth thanks to a dip in Solana’s popularity. Metaverses came in last with a 4.2% share, continuing to post weak results.

In the meme category, the top tokens by popularity were nearly evenly split: Shiba Inu (21.92%), Pepe (22.72%), DOGS (22.65%), and others. Meanwhile, in the Solana and Ethereum ecosystems, their native coins dominate: Solana (55.27%) and Ethereum (42.14%). In the gaming category, Notcoin stood out with a 49.48% share.
Analysts also observed that Bitcoin remains the most popular cryptocurrency globally, holding over 50% of user interest. Oceania shows the greatest interest in Bitcoin (52.38%), while Africa has the lowest (45.17%). Solana follows in second place with around 15% interest worldwide.
