This sentiment follows a series of pro-crypto initiatives and appointments, signaling a potential shift in the regulatory space.
In a TV interview with CNBC,Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said that the industry is ready for changes and clear rules. He added that the last four years felt like crypto businesses were attacked by the US administration with aggressive enforcement actions.
Although admitting that there are bad actors in crypto, Armstrong said regulators “tried to weaponize the lack of clarity in the rules to really push back, even on the good actors.” He mentioned that the current priority for crypto is getting legislation with clear rules passed in the US.
Binance CEO Richard Teng said he expects legislation to clarify key aspects of crypto like token issuance, trading and asset management. He predicted that 2025 will bring a new all-time high for the crypto industry.
According to Teng, the US might add Bitcoin to its national strategic reserves as discussed during campaign rhetoric.
Jeremy Allaire, the CEO of the stablecoin network Circle, is of the opinion that banks could hold some reserves in Bitcoin in a move to return to commodity-backed money.
