On October 28, Apple announced the release of its first batch of AI features for compatible iPhones, iPads, and Macs. Apple CEO Tim Cook wrote on X that the update includes Writing Tools, intelligence in photos, and improvements to Siri.
The new features are available for the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16 models, iMacs with M1 and later versions, MacBook Air with M1 and later versions, and other recent products.
A major part of Apple Intelligence is Writing Tools, which help users find the right words more easily, summarize large texts, adjust style, group threads, and prioritize notifications.

Among the updates is Siri’s new design, featuring enhanced language understanding and a more natural conversation style. Apple states that Siri now has greater awareness of a user's personal context and can assist across different apps.
With new image capabilities, users can create custom images and emojis, search photos and videos, remove objects from photos, and more.
These intelligence features are made possible through integration with OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Additional updates, like Siri performing in-app actions and generating images, are scheduled for late 2024 as part of iOS 18.2.
Apple assures that its Private Cloud Compute protects user privacy when using Apple Intelligence tools.
