Ella Zhang, a key figure in Binance Labs’ 2018 launch, has returned to lead YZi Labs. During her tenure, she fostered the growth of over 40 groundbreaking startups, including Polygon, Injective Protocol, and Dune Analytics.
Changpeng Zhao (CZ), co-founder of Binance, will stay closely involved with YZi Labs, mentoring startup founders and guiding them through challenges. Despite stepping down as Binance CEO due to legal issues in the U.S., CZ’s role at YZi Labs showcases his dedication to driving innovation.
As Bloomberg reports, YZi Labs oversees approximately $10 billion in assets and is set to expand its investments beyond crypto. The company will increasingly focus on AI and biotech, industries predicted to reshape the future landscape.
Bloomberg quoted Ella Zhang, who described YZi Labs as “purely a family office investment vehicle.”
YZi Labs will overhaul its incubation program by implementing a 12-week initiative, fostering deeper collaboration and engagement among startup founders.
As part of its evolution, YZi Labs will revamp its incubation program with a 12-week in-person residency, providing an immersive collaborative experience for founders.
With over 250 portfolio companies spread across more than 25 countries, YZi Labs will maintain its support for these ventures while continuing its collaboration with the BNB Chain Most Valuable Builder (MVB) program.
