This is an informal proposal where the community is pushing for the current lead, Aya Miyaguchi, to be replaced. On the website votedannyryan.com, created by developer Fabrice Cheng, 292 people voted “Yes” for the replacement, while 10 voted “No.”
In a post on X, Danny Ryan said he left EF in 2023 due to health issues after working on Ethereum for 7 years.
He mentioned that he had opened a dialogue with Vitalik Buterin and the EF about new changes before conversations about leadership change started. Ryan thanked the community for the support, adding that EF is evolving with or without him.
The movement first gained traction on social media, with users like @coinmamba calling for Aya’s resignation.
The movement highlights that many in the community are unhappy with Miyaguchi’s leadership and are pushing for a more technical executive.
Previously, @coinmamba tweeted that ETH could reach a new all-time high within two weeks if she resigned. “If we keep the pressure on, she will resign,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, Vitalik Buterin did not support such posts. He wrote on X that community pressure “creates an environment that is actively toxic to top talent” and makes his job harder.
