Solana-based NFT marketplace Magic Eden is expanding. The platform announced adding support for 2 more blockchains: Berachain and ApeChain, bringing the total number of supported blockchains to 9.
Berachain is a Layer 1 blockchain for decentralized finance (DeFi), featuring a proof-of-liquidity consensus mechanism, while ApeChain is tailored for the ApeCoin community, supporting Bored Ape Yacht Club and other NFT projects.
Next, Magic Eden plans to add support for Monad, a Layer 1 blockchain that’s still to go live on testnet. By doing so, the platform will reach its goal of supporting 10 blockchains by the end of 2024.

Other chains supported by Magic Eden are Solana, Ethereum, Polygon, Base, Arbitrum, and Bitcoin. This means users can trade NFTs across multiple blockchain networks.
Since each blockchain has its own technical infrastructure, protocols, and standards, supporting multiple chains allows users to make cross-chain transactions and choose which blockchains and wallets they want to use for payments.
According to DefiLlama, Magic Eden is among the top 10 NFT marketplaces by daily trading volume. It gained attention for hosting trending NFTs like the Mad Lads and ABC (Abracadabra) collections, driving increased trading volume on the platform.
Other leading NFT platforms include Blur, Opensea, Cryptopunks, and Gem.
