Bitcoin ATM Radar confirms that the top four global rankings remain unchanged, with the United States, Canada, Australia, and Spain leading the pack.
Poland’s rapid crypto ATM growth reflects a sustained expansion effort that began in October 2024 and has continued for four months.
This stands in stark contrast to El Salvador, where the number of ATMs has stalled at 215 since its leadership in 2022. In comparison, Poland added 12 new machines in January alone, cementing its rising position.
Today, an estimated 38,100 cryptocurrency ATMs are active in 65 countries. While critics cite concerns about their potential misuse for unlawful purposes, these machines are key to introducing cryptocurrencies to a broader audience.
These devices, operators insist, help those without traditional banking services by offering a straightforward and affordable entry point into the cryptocurrency market.
Australia has also established itself as a key hub for crypto ATMs, maintaining consistent growth for three years. In April 2024, it joined the elite “1,000+ Bitcoin ATM club,” alongside the United States and Canada.
“The expansion in Poland reflects a larger European trend toward bolstering crypto infrastructure. Yet, whether this trend proves sustainable and if other countries will join the push in 2025 is yet to be determined,” concludes Ivan Dikalenko, an analyst of The Coinomist.
