Although Microsoft's investment falls short of a majority, owning less than 49% of OpenAI's shares and thus not qualifying as an acquisition, this hasn't deterred officials from initiating a preliminary investigation. Consequently, all involved parties are now required to provide their responses to the Commission's queries by March 11, 2024.
