OpenAI announced the introduction of an advanced Voice Mode for some subscribers of its paid service. If you're one of them, you might have received a notification in the app or an email.
This new feature simulates a conversation with a real person, as the chatbot can now detect your emotions and will pause if you interrupt.
The company is gradually expanding access to this advanced Voice Mode and expects to make it available to all ChatGPT Plus users by the fall of 2024.
This mode was first demonstrated during the presentation of the new GPT-4o model. Additionally, new features that allow users to submit information to the chatbot via a smartphone camera were shown, but these will be made available later.
OpenAI also plans to release a detailed report in early August this year on the capabilities, limitations, and safety evaluation of GPT-4o.
