YouTube launched an AI-based chatbot aimed at assisting content creators in regaining control of their accounts if they’ve been compromised. For now, it’s available to a select group of users, but the developers intend to make it accessible to everyone.
The bot operates in English and can be accessed through the platform’s Help Center. When restoring an account, it asks the owners a series of questions about their channel’s activities and other available information in order to reverse any changes made by hackers.
As reported by The Verge, the chatbot is performing well without any “hallucinations,” likely due to strict controls. Nevertheless, some users remain skeptical of this new feature and have even criticized YouTube for avoiding direct interaction with content creators.
The concern is that when major issues occur, the platform often overlooks smaller users, redirecting them to a standard FAQ section, while larger channels and partner companies usually receive direct contact and support from YouTube representatives.
