In the Argentine Congress, a novel legislative proposal has been tabled, encompassing a suite of reforms in taxation, labor, energy, and more, with some measures specifically addressing cryptocurrency regulation.
The proposal allows citizens to legitimize their crypto holdings without needing to furnish documentation regarding their origins. However, a flat tax rate of 5% is applicable if these assets are declared by March 2024.
The bill also provides a provision for later declarations, albeit at escalated tax rates. Declarations made by the end of June 2024 will incur a 10% tax, and those made by the end of September 2024 will be taxed at 15%. (edited)
