The Mantle Network is now live on mainnet
The Ethereum-compatible Mantle Network, a Layer 2 blockchain solution, has initiated its alpha mainnet launch at the Ethereum Community Conference in Paris. Following a period of extensive testing and development over six months, the network accomplished over 14 million on-chain transactions.

Mantle operates differently from conventional monolithic blockchains, employing a modular chain technique that assigns separate layers for execution, data availability, consensus, and settlement.
The modular structure, Optimistic Rollup design, and data availability facilitated by the ether restaking protocol EigenLayer aim for a balance of high performance, low costs, and preservation of Ethereum's decentralized security. It opens up opportunities for advanced blockchain gaming, DeFi, and social protocols without hefty fees.
The alpha launch sees partnerships with several entities, including blockchain gaming accelerator Game7, web3 game launcher HyperPlay, and blockchain education initiative EduDAO. The DAO-led ecosystem has also approved a $200 million ecosystem fund to support early-stage dApps on Ethereum Layer 2.
