On September 16, Donald Trump participated in a livestream on X focused on his sons' DeFi project, World Liberty Financial. During the meeting, Trump made a bold statement.
He warned that if he loses the upcoming presidential election, the crypto community “will be living in hell,” pointing to the SEC’s current approach, which he views as overly hostile toward cryptocurrencies.
Trump also explained what caused him to change his view on cryptocurrency. Previously, he wasn’t a supporter of the crypto industry and, in 2021, even referred to Bitcoin as a scam.
Trump mentioned that the success of his own NFT collection, with most payments being made in crypto, contributed to his change of heart. Still, he admitted his children were the biggest reason for this shift.
Earlier this summer, the presidential candidate also released a limited edition of crypto sneakers to complement his NFT collections. We covered this in a previous article on our website.
